           June 2019 Report to Vestry

           St Michael’s, Porangahau:

v Awaiting guidance from Finance Focus group as to how the repairs to

  Steeple will be handled financially.

v Trees in Glebe causing trouble for neighbouring house. Bob  Judd and

Janette Hudson  have visited the neighbour  to discuss; one of the trees is

in his property and 2 are in the Glebe. The neighbour  has offered to go

halves with cost. We are looking at cost for removal / cutting back.

v The Glebe land has been sown back in grass which has struck well.

A local farmer  is keen to graze it again so a contract is being drawn up.

Noticed grounds around church and cemetery looking well kept thanks

to Central Hawk's Bay District Council.

St Peter’s  Waipawa:

v   Roof of church needs cleaning. To report back.

v  Notice board for church  is a work in progress.

v  Sale of St Peter's former vicarage. Four members of the Group  met

with a local Real Estate Agent at the vicarage; after a good inspection

the Group members  could see the benefit of a tidy up with painting

throughout and re-carpeting to really bring a good sale price.  The

Group have recommended to Vestry that we  go ahead with this.

Meantime the roller garage door needs fixing—does not go up . Bob            Judd  will arrange repairs.

Work on the sealed drive way for Church is commencing in the next

                  few weeks.

The Glebe has been cleared, overseen by Fire Brigade.

The tower has almost been completed--- mission accomplished. Still                                 some extras like rails on outdoor concrete areas etc.

 St Mark’s, Takapau

The roof repair over the church;pleasing to have lounge completed and with the recent heavy rain we remain dry.

The bell will be fixed within the next week or so.

Having had a recent working bee to remove trees in front of the new fence erected by Taylor Made Gates at no cost to the parish, the tree stumps have been removed, the wood given as firewood to a solo person, The ground is ready to be raked and levelled to become lawn. The tall tree remains and the dead tree alongside will be removed. There is now more light in the church. It is felt that by doing this it will be easy care for the future and the grounds will remain tidy.  With the bus stop opposite the church a new welcome sign can be erected for service times and events. There will be a cost to the Parish for the stump grinding, but long term the cost is minimal .

The community garden is being cared for by an "angel".
